The PC300 controller keyboard expands on the PC180 facilities by adding an USB interface, so that it can be connected directly to any computer with a USB terminal, which is now standard on new Macs from the blue and white G3 onwards, and any PC withUSB built into the motherboard or a suitable PCI card. This may save you the added expense of a MIDI interface for your computer, although the PC300 includes MIDI out so it can still be used as a conventional MIDI controller. It has a 4 octave, fullsize, velocity sensitive keyboard and a dual function pitch bend / modulation joystick, plus transpose buttons for instant shifts up or down, by one or two octaves. Its data entry slider and joystick may be assigned to standard controllers, such as reverb depth, pan, volume, aftertouch, etc. and there is a footswitch input for a sustain pedal. The PC300 can transmit patch or bank changes and Roland GS commands. It will run on batteries or an AC adapter, and includes a free copy of Cubasis AV sequencing software in the package.
